Holiday Part 4 / Nyaralásunk 4. rész

Sunday morning the kids lead the church service. 3 children divided the story of the Good shepherd themselves and read the story plus added some personal notes to them. They also served with music and Bible verses. It was very uniq:-)
After packing we left for home but stopped at Hollókő - a famous old town with a ruin of a castle. part of the World Heritage. Its name means "Raven-stone" in Hungarian.

 

Holiday Part 3 / Nyaralásunk 3. rész

On Saturday we crossed the border to Slovakia to go and see the ruins of the castle in Filakovo (Fülek). The 5-storeyd Bebek-tower is restored, and there is an exhibition in it. You can go on some parts of the walls, too. An interesting point to this visit was that an ancester of mine was given the title of a noble in this very castle back in 1668. This is why I was wearing a T-shirt with our coat-of arm that day:-)
On the journey there the kids read their booklet I have prepared for them, so they were looking for things mentioned there.

Szombaton Fülekre mentünk, a várat néztük meg. Előre elolvastuk a kis füzetkéket, így már ismerősebb volt az egész.
A vár személyes érintettséggel is bír: egy távoli ősöm itt kapott nemesi rangot 1668-ban. Ennek örömére aznap a címeres pólónk volt rajtam (meg többünkön a családból)

Holiday part 2 / Nyaralás 2. rész

Istenmezeje - this is the name of a settlement in Northern-Hungary. We like the name so we went there one afternoon. There was this lovely rocky part we climbed. It is worthy of its name - FIELD OF GOD.
We learnt that Barni loves climbing - every time he saw a hill or a mountain, he set off for a climb...

Semmi különösebb látványosságról nem olvastunk ugyan, de úgy gondoltuk, ha már ilyen jó neve van ennek a közeli településnek, szétnézünk. Volt egy köves rész, ami nagyon szép volt, és kívánatos a megmászásra... Barni sem tudta kihagyni. Meg is állapítottuk, hogy neki aztán bejön a hegymászás!

Holiday Part 1 / Nyaralásunk 1. rész

We were invited to help with the kids camp last week. It was a reward trip for the 7 children attending our after-school program. Our accomodation was at Mátraterenye.
In the mornings there was a worship time + Bible study, also in the evening, and throughout the whole day there was much fun for the kids. I was busy with the children so Most of the time my husband Imi entertained Barni. Karina took part in the programs.
We went to Ipolytarnóc Fossils on Thursday. Altough it is a huge place with lots to see, as we went quite late we did not see much. We had quite a challenge at the Canopy walk, Imi did it first then Karina and myself did it together, chained to eachother. While everybody had a go on it, the rest of us were enjoying ourselves at the playground. You won't believe, but there really was a tractor working next to the playgorund - Barni just LOVED it!

Fasten it - open it...

Visiting Biatorbágy / Biatorbágyon jártunk

We had an appointment for Karina as she is supposed to have her nasal tonsils removed. We had to drive up to Biatorbágy, so we made an outing of it.
It was about two hours drive for us, after lunch, so Barni had a nap. Meanwhile, Karina was working on the Strawberry Shortcake sticker activity book I had prepared for her. We got to Biatorbágy too early so we went to a playground first. It did not seem the best idea afterwards as both kids got very dirty considering the fact that we were to see a doctor:-( But at least they enjoyed themselves...
After our appointment we went to see the viaducts and climbed all the stairs up there. Meanwhile Karina has learnt to whistle with an akacia leaf.
On the way home we stopped for another playground and an ice cream in Dunaföldvár. We had a nice but long day (especially with Barni's high fever and diarrhea). We did a lot of talking in Geography too, which was another good point:-)

Mandulaműtétre készülünk, és Biatorbágyra mentünk orvoshoz. Összekötöttük a kellemest a hasznossal, kirándultunk egy jót. Karina megcsinálta az Eperkéhez készített kis matricás füzetkémet, miközben Barni aludt. Sikerült szűk két órával korábban érkeznünk (nem akartunk elkésni, hihihi), így játszótereztünk egyet. Utólag megbántam, mert nem éppen makulátlan ruhában járultunk így a doktor úr színe elé. De legalább jót szórakoztunk... Mégsem ülhettünk ennyi ideig az autóban abban a hőségben...
A vizsgálat után sikerült a viaduktra felvezető lépcsősort is megtalálnunk, így fellépcsőztünk oda is. Karina közben kitartóan fütyült az út mentén található akácfákról begyűjtött levelekkel - ez is aznapi új tudomány...

Hazafelé egy második játszóteret is beiktattunk, azt már Dunaföldváron, majd fagyiztunk is egyet. És útközben rengeteget föciztünk. Ahhoz képest, hogy szegény Barnim tiszta láz volt, jól telt a kényszerkirándulás:-)
